LEAGUE GRANTED PERMISSION TO INTERVENE
AGAINST REVENTURE
NC UTILITIES COMMISSION ORDER ISSUED TODAY
Today the North Carolina Utilities Commission
issued an order granting Blue Ridge Environmental Defense Leagues
petition to intervene in ReVenture Park Investments request
for a declaratory ruling. The order is in response to the Leagues
petition to intervene filed on Monday.
Blue Ridge Environmental Defense Leagues petition seeks to
block ReVentures request to have yard waste and
refuse-derived fuel inserted into North Carolinas
definition of renewable energy and to grant triple renewable
energy certificates for these fuels. On March 15, 2011, ReVenture
submitted their request for a declaratory ruling asking the
Commission to have these municipal wastes considered renewable
energy resources.
