Air Pollution Control Devices

Progress Energy will install flue gas desulfurization devices (scrubbers) for controlling SO2 & NOx reduction devices for controlling NOx by 2013.
(status as of June 2004, updated August 2007.)

SO2:  
NOx: low-NOx burner on Units 2 & 3. Selective Non-catalytic Reduction on Unit 3.
